Survey Highlights Security Concerns in SaaS Adoption
A survey by Onymos reveals rising security concerns among tech leaders as SaaS adoption grows. Of 300 U.S.-based IT and development leaders surveyed, 78% cited security threats as a major worry, with 45% reporting cybersecurity incidents involving third-party SaaS solutions in the past year. Key concerns include data privacy (65%) and security (72%), with 91% emphasizing retaining data within custom-built internal applications. Despite SaaS benefits like faster deployment, only 36% rely solely on on-premises or private cloud solutions, highlighting the need for better data control and robust security measures.

As businesses globally embrace digitalization, Indian SaaS companies enhance operations, collaboration, and employee engagement. By leveraging cloud computing, AI, and machine learning, these solutions offer flexibility, optimize workflows, and improve communication, making Indian SaaS startups key players in the global market's rapid growth.
As organizations increasingly adopt cloud-based SaaS applications, identity has become the primary target for cyberattacks, replacing infrastructure as the main vulnerability. In 2024, credential-based attacks account for about 38% of data breaches, with SaaS applications being the main focus. The surge in unmonitored "shadow identities" and "ghost logins"—accounts created before proper identity management—amplifies these risks. As companies now use an average of 112 SaaS apps, securing these applications and managing identities effectively is becoming increasingly challenging.
